How to choose the right coating technology

KTL/e-coat, powder and wet coating all have different strengths. The best choice depends on the material, part design and required performance.

How to choose the right coating technology

Start with what the finish needs to do

Corrosion resistance, appearance, chemicals, temperature, outdoor use and later assembly matter more than the name of the process.

KTL for an even base coat

The dip process reaches complex shapes and cavities. It is often used for corrosion protection and can be followed by a topcoat.

Powder for a tough final finish

Powder coating gives a durable cured finish with plenty of visual options. Part geometry can affect how well powder reaches shielded areas.

Wet coating for flexibility

Wet systems suit special materials, multi-coat systems, visible surfaces or parts that are not ideal for powder coating.

Three technologies, one goal

The right finish for the part

We start with what the surface needs to withstand, not with the colour. The material, shape, working environment and required look guide us to one process or a sensible combination.
