A coating can look fine at dispatch and still fail too soon. The condition of the surface before coating often makes the difference.

Contamination stays under the coating

Oil, scale, corrosion or process residues can create a weak point between the metal and the coating. Paint does not remove them; it only covers them.

The part must be designed for the process

Closed cavities need vents, pockets need drainage and the hanger must keep the part in the right position. These details affect both cleaning and coating.

Henkel chemical pretreatment

Our powder line uses iron phosphating. Our KTL line uses zinc phosphating, either on its own before powder or wet coating, or as part of the full KTL process.
